What will you be doing?

Financial Controls

Reporting to the Head of Financial Control, you will be supporting financial reporting and control environment across the Division—defining controls, ensuring ongoing compliance, and providing education to the wider business as required.

Balance Sheet Integrity

Responsible for the integrity of divisional balance sheets, ensuring timely completion and review of reconciliations, and proactively seeking opportunities to strengthen financial position.

Technical Accounting

Ensure accounting treatment throughout the Division aligns with Group Accounting Policies (e.g., FRS 102). Lead the implementation of new accounting standards in partnership with Group Finance.

External Audit

Manage the external audit process across the Division, acting as the primary contact for auditors. Communicate major accounting judgements and provide technical accounting papers as needed.

Internal Audit

Work closely with Group Internal Audit to develop Terms of Reference, support reviews, and ensure timely completion of audit actions.

Finance Systems

Oversee the financial integrity of data within finance systems (e.g., Oracle, consolidation systems). Lead on the implementation or enhancement of finance systems as required.

Tax

Manage all divisional tax matters, in collaboration with Group Tax, including VAT submissions.

Compliance

Monitor and report on compliance with internal policies (e.g., expenses, credit card usage), highlighting trends and recommending action to the Divisional Operations Board.

Treasury & Cash Forecasting

Oversee treasury activities and support cash flow forecasting for the Division, ensuring robust liquidity management and optimised working capital.

Team Development

Lead, develop, and motivate the Financial Control team, focusing on continuous improvement in skills, knowledge, and professional growth.

What you’ll bring

  • Qualified ACA, ACCA, CIMA with at least a minimum of 3 years post qualification experience
  • Self-motivated, robust and resourceful finance professional.
  • Ability to build and manage effective teams fostering a culture of high performance.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong leader able to remain focused in a fast-paced environment
