Job Title: Maintenance Agility Planning Technician

Pay grade: £18.87

Location : Caterpillar Shrewsbury Ltd.

About IPSD

Job Summary

The maintenance department is responsible for continually improving the availability of facility production equipment. Significant investment in people and equipment over recent years has led to a motivated and highly engaged team delivering excellent results using modern technology and maintenance techniques.

The Maintenance Agility Planneing Technician role maintains and develops facility availability and uptime using tools such as Preventative Maintenance and fault analysis. In the role you will be responsible for Agility system maintenance and housekeeping to enable a controlled planned preventative maintenance schedule, maintaining an equipment/asset list. Regular reporting will provide statistics on numbers of reactive and planned maintenance work orders, overdue, completed and totals. Liaising with the maintenance and operations departments you will assist in maximising equipment availability. Planning of PPM/Schedules and preparing Standard Jobs to initiate reactive & PPM Maintenance Work Orders will assist in the correct scheduling and monitoring of priority ranked tasks for the available maintenance resources.

A role within our Maintenance team will provide you with the opportunity to work with many leading brands in manufacturing technology such as: Safety Kleen, Heller, Okuma, Yamazaki Mazak, Harry Major, SSG Insight

What You Will Do:

  • Work with Agility Application to maintain Equipment Asset List, PPM Schedule Jobs and Reactive tasks.

  • Work to create and maintain a planned preventative maintenance schedule

  • Report on the data accuracy, and performance statistics of maintenance tasks.

  • Use of mobile device and PCs to manage Agility work orders.

  • Assist with the use of Agility to record calibration certificates to standards maintaining compliance to internal and externally audited quality standards.

  • Liaise with the operations, maintenance team and engineering departments to maximise equipment availability

  • Must ensure that safe working practices are followed.

  • Verbally report & document daily issues for handover

Candidates will have gained the following skills and experience through previous roles:

  • NVQ Level 3 / Time served Apprentice in Maintenance Engineering, equivalent qualifications in Mechatronics or demonstrable skills from experience.

  • Experience of Agility Application and working with priority-based job lists.

  • Some experience of mechanical aspects of Machinery & Equipment (e.g motors, gearboxes etc.)

  • Some knowledge of CNC, hydraulic & pneumatic machine control systems

  • Experience in site infrastructure maintenance

  • Self-motivated and comfortable to work with limited supervision

Candidates may have gained the following skills and experience through previous roles:

  • Experience of working within a manufacturing environment

  • IT Skills to use Microsoft 365 suite of software and SSG Insight Agility application.

Additional Information:

Day Shift: 37 hours per week, 4 days. Mon-Thur 7:30am – 5:15pm

Paid overtime when required
