Job Title:- Paper Conservation Technician

Duration:- Permanent

Salary :- £26,500 per annum

We are looking for a Conservation Technician to join our team and assist on a large scale book conservation project. This is a good opportunity for recent book conservation graduates and for bookbinders to apply their talents.

Max Communications is a digitisation and archive services specialist with over 25 years’ experience. We have an extensive client list which includes some of the UK’s most prestigious galleries, museums and archive organisations. In 2016 we received the Royal Warrant for digitisation and archive services to his Majesty the King. The successful candidate will be joining a dynamic team within a friendly and well-established business which has ambitious plans for growth.

The ideal candidate will have appropriate qualifications or equivalent experience, with excellent manual dexterity, attention to detail, and documentation skills.

Skills:

  • Book binding
  • Paper mending
  • Precise and clean work
  • Knowledge of book and paper conservation techniques and workflows

Experience:

  • Preferably recent book and paper conservation graduates
  • Tightback and case binding experience
  • Has worked with acidified leather
