    About the Role

    An exciting opportunity has arisen for an exceptional and visionary leader to take on the role of Museum Director for the new Football Museum of Wales and Wrexham Museum, heritage sites and newly developed collection store.

    This is a unique chance to shape a flagship cultural and sporting destination of national significance. You will lead the development, operation, and public impact of our heritage sites and museum celebrating Wales’s rich football heritage and showcasing Wrexham’s heritage.

    About You

    We are seeking an inspiring and dynamic individual who can combine strong leadership with creativity, partnership-building, and a passion for heritage, sport, and community engagement.

    You will bring:

    • Proven senior leadership and technical experience in museums, heritage or cultural organisations.
    • Strong financial and operational management skills
    • Experience of developing innovative exhibitions and audience engagement programmes
    • A collaborative approach to partnership working with stakeholders, communities, and national bodies
    • Passion for Welsh heritage, identity, and ideally an appreciation of football’s cultural impact

    Welsh language skills are desirable but not essential.
