About Cambridge Home School
Cambridge Home School is a unique online school with a close-knit, caring, global community. Our small classes ensure every student is known, supported, and valued as an individual. We champion diversity, creating a vibrant community of learners who are a joy to teach each day.
Job Description:
Are you a well-qualified teacher keen to teach in an online school? We are looking for a teacher of KS2 and KS3 Music to join us from September 1st 2026. This role is fully remote and would involve teaching for 5 hours per week, term time, during the normal school day. More hours may possibly be available in the future if required.
The pay is £30 per hour. This hourly rate is 'per lesson' rather than per actual hour, so includes planning and marking time. Work including meetings with parents and report writing can be invoiced at the hourly rate. Additional hours may be available by taking extra-curricular clubs and pastoral mentoring. For tax purposes, you are classed as self-employed. The successful candidate must be able to commit to the full academic year to avoid any unnecessary disruption for the students.
The successful candidate will:
- Hold QTS (or equivalent) and a relevant undergraduate degree
- Have successful teaching experience at secondary level
- Have a good level of ICT skills
- Plan and deliver engaging online lessons
- Be keen to develop their online teaching skills
- Be able to create a motivating and safe learning environment for all students
- Be able to communicate positively with parents and carers
- Have good written and spoken communication skills
- Be able to lead and manage their own work effectively
Cambridge Home School Online is fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. Safeguarding legislation and UK government guidance says that safeguarding means:
- Protecting children from maltreatment
- Preventing impairment of children’s health or development
- Ensuring that children are growing up in circumstances consistent with the provision of safe and effective care
- Taking action to enable all children and young people to have the best outcome
At CHS, we aim to create a warm and supportive environment where students feel safe and secure. In all matters of safeguarding, we aim to respect and protect the rights of the individual as well as carefully considering how we support students with regards to protected characteristics. Equally all school staff will be trained and supported in their safeguarding role. The school will take action to promote a safeguarding culture amongst all members of its community and always act in the best interests of the child.
We strive for excellence in teaching and learning. If you are eager to join an aspirational school with a genuine family feel, we welcome your application.
We are currently only accepting applications submitted via a completed application form. Indeed applications will not be seen.
