Music Teacher - Secondary SEMH School

Remedy Education are looking for a creative and enthusiastic Music Teacher to join a secondary SEMH school based in Leyton.

This is a brilliant opportunity for a Music Teacher who can use creativity, practical lessons and strong relationships to engage students with social, emotional and mental health needs. The school are looking for someone confident delivering Music lessons and supporting students who may find traditional classroom learning challenging.

Role Details:

Position: Music Teacher
Location: Leyton
Pay: £200-£270 per day
Hours: Full-time
Start Date: ASAP / September roles available
School Type: Secondary SEMH School

The Role:

As a Music Teacher, you will:

  • Plan and deliver engaging Music lessons to secondary-aged students
  • Use practical and creative activities to encourage participation
  • Support pupils with SEMH, challenging behaviour and additional needs
  • Help students build confidence, self-expression and communication through music
  • Adapt lessons to suit different learning styles and abilities
  • Maintain a calm, structured and positive learning environment
  • Work closely with teaching assistants, pastoral staff and the wider school team

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status or strong relevant teaching experience
  • Experience teaching Music to secondary-aged students
  • SEMH, PRU or Alternative Provision experience is highly desirable
  • Strong behaviour management and relationship-building skills
  • A creative, patient and resilient approach
  • Confidence engaging students who may struggle with mainstream education
  • A genuine passion for using music to support learning and personal development
