Job Overview

As a Freelance Music Teacher, you’ll plan and deliver engaging music lessons suited to learners’ ages, interests and abilities. Adapt activities to support participation, build musical confidence and encourage steady progress.

Duties

• Teach music through practical, creative activities, adjusting explanations and exercises to suit individual learners.
• Provide tutoring and constructive feedback, and use clear communication and behaviour management to maintain a positive learning environment.
• Prepare lesson materials, track progress and share relevant updates with families or colleagues.
• Your impact: Tailored lessons help learners participate confidently and develop skills they can use in future musical activities.

Requirements

Required: You’ll need practical teaching ability, clear communication, and the capacity to plan lessons, give feedback and manage behaviour appropriately. Preferred: Experience working with children, including childcare, preschool or early childhood education, is useful; special education experience can support inclusive teaching. Tutoring, teaching physical education, and skills in maths, creative writing or proofreading may also help you adapt activities and materials to different learners.

Pay: £25.00-£35.00 per hour

Expected hours: 5.0 – 20.0 per week
