Full job description

Join Bop DJ as a Sales Executive for the chance to work in one of the most exciting and rewarding industries available. You’ll be provided with the training, development and support to give you every chance of earning brilliant rewards, with typical on-target earnings of £25,000 to £32,000 and the opportunity to increase earnings further for exceptional performance. We will also give you a great benefits package and a fun and relaxed work environment.

The role will largely be telephone and email based sales along with some face to face sales with customers in our super slick central Leeds showroom. In this dynamic and varied role, you will be right at the heart of the customer experience as they consider their Music Technology purchases. It will be your role to get to the bottom of the customers needs, ensuring they remain connected to products and services that best suit the direction they want to take on the next step of their musical journeys.

You will have the ability to identify customers’ needs through effective fact finding, ensuring that the customer is getting the best possible deal on a package, which fits with the direction they want to take next with their music. Resilience, determination, empathy and the ability to build rapport to quickly develop a relationship with any customer are key traits that you’ll need to provide excellent service. Having the tenacity to follow up and own your sales from initial contact to close is also essential.

Our company is well established as one of the leading retailers of DJ & Music Production equipment in the UK. We were founded in 2008 as an online seller. Now with 3 stores in cities with vibrant electronic music scenes – Leeds, Bristol and Manchester, it is an exhilarating time for current and future employees to be part of our exciting evolution. Due to the nature of our rapid growth, real opportunities exist for employees to move around the business into varied and interesting roles.

Skills and Attributes Required

  • First and foremost, you must have a passion for all things DJ technology related. Ideally you will also actively produce music either as a hobby or professionally.
  • At least 1 years’ experience in telephone or face to face based sales/customer service, handling large volumes of work.
  • Technology driven, excitedly awaiting, embracing and understanding the latest technology in the DJ and music production sector.
  • The ability to sell through listening to customers and identifying the most appropriate solution for the customers’ needs, rather than simply selling the highest value product.
  • The ability to systematically test and diagnose audio equipment and identify genuine faults as opposed to user error.
  • Well-presented and aware of the image you portray, and appreciation of the importance of the surroundings you work in being equally well presented.
  • A good level of education to at least A Level standard. Would ideally suit a graduate with a keen interest in the DJ & Music Production sector.

The successful applicant will receive an initial two-week training period followed by two months on-the-job coaching so that you get to really know your colleagues and the standards we set before helping our customers with their queries. In no time at all you will be fully up and running, presenting the very latest music technology products and services to a welcoming and receptive customer base.

As well as brilliant earning potential we offer a benefits package that includes:

  • 28 days holiday (including 8 bank holidays)
  • Generous Staff Discounts
  • Fantastic central Leeds location
  • Complimentary merchandise from brands including high value software and clothing
  • Company Pension Scheme
  • Comprehensive product training provided by the Music Industries leading brands
  • Fantastic staff nights out

So what are you waiting for? Step out of your current dull industry and immerse yourself in everything Music Technology!
