The School
Bronte is an independent, co-educational preparatory school in Gravesend, Kent, serving children aged 3 to 11. It has been part of the community since 1905.
Bronte School combines high academic standards with intrinsic motivation. Its 2025 ISI inspection highlighted academic outcomes as a 'significant strength', recognising a provision that goes far beyond baseline standards. Woven into daily life, the school motto, Labor Ipse Voluptas - ‘Work itself is pleasure", inspires children to love learning, a valuable lifelong lesson.
Pupils' wellbeing is central to every aspect of school life. Guided by the belief that every child matters and every voice is valued, the close-knit community of around 150 pupils creates a warm, family-centred atmosphere where relationships are paramount.
Critical thinking underpins the curriculum. Pupils are taught to analyse, evaluate, and question information rather than simply memorise facts, learning to discern logic from bias. These core skills prepare children for life beyond their prep school years.
Bronte is immensely proud of its academic outcomes, achieving an impressive 95% pass rate into selective & super selective secondary schools, with alumni frequently attending prestigious universities such as Oxford and Cambridge.
The school is equally proud of its pupils winning national competitions in coding, art, mathematics, languages and music. Its success is reflected in confident, compassionate young people who leave Bronte understanding the positive contribution they can make to the world.
The Role
To deliver inspiring, engaging, and age-appropriate 1:1 piano tuition to prep school pupils (ages 4–11). The ideal candidate will foster a genuine love for music in young learners, establish strong technical foundations, and contribute actively to the lively co-curricular musical life of the Prep School.
