PERIPATETIC MUSIC TEACHER (School term-time only)

We are currently seeking music teachers (ideally with either QTS or a proven track record in teaching) to deliver a blend of curriculum music and large group instrumental music and possible extra curricular activities.

Required to deliver small group and large group instrumental music lessons within primary schools in the North East (predominantly Sunderland and Durham area);

Deliver large group national curriculum music lessons within primary schools in the North East (predominantly Sunderland and Durham area).

Required for an immediate start.

We are music education consultancy who deliver high quality music tuition to schools in the North East, primarily in Newcastle, Sunderland and Durham.

We work with schools to develop high quality provision with a considered bespoke service to meet their individual needs as well as the teacher's. Most schools look to engage music teachers to do multiple roles, including curriculum; small group and after school clubs.

The ideal candidate would be able to:

  • Inspire and involve young people with a love of learning and making music through the delivery of weekly lessons.
  • Deliver whole class music, large group music sessions and small group teaching.
  • Communicate effectively with schools about pupils’ progress and be able to sustain teaching over a long period of time with certain groups of pupils.
  • Follow best practice in safeguarding, equality, diversity, and inclusion

Essential criteria

  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • A proven track record in teaching music
  • A degree or equivalent in music.
  • An ability to learn and develop music within a school setting.
  • Good time management skills

Desirable

  • QTS
  • Multi instrumentalist or ability to teach different instruments
  • Ability to run a choir or singing group
