Full job description

Music Stuff (MS) Education are a multisite independent school.

We are seeking a qualified teacher to teach Key Stage 3 SEND and SEMH Pupils in a Specialist school, supporting pupils with EHCP's to develop the skills and confidence to reach their full potential.

The role is 3 days per week and this can be flexible. This is a part time post however a full time position might be an option for the right candidate.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 1 year experience of working with pupils with SEMH needs and SEND, preferably in a specialist/SEND provision.

The duties will involve:

  • Teaching and planning lessons to a small group of pupils, delivering the school's plan, curriculum and schemes of work.
  • Assess, monitor and report pupil progress and achievement.
  • Differentiate teaching in accordance with the strengths and needs of the pupils.
  • Attend regular meetings and liaise with the SENCo, pastoral lead and SLT (Teaching and curriculum lead) regarding key updates and progress of your pupils, ensuring you are aware of their learning plans and EHCP's from a teaching perspective.
  • Work with others on curriculum and development to secure outcomes for pupils.
  • Promote safeguarding of all pupils at all times.
  • Record and report any safeguarding concerns to the DSL and in line with safeguarding regulations and internal policies.
  • Communicate effectively with all stakeholders and represent the school positively and professionally at all times, promoting the school's ethos.
  • Participate in regular CPD training required to improve your practice.
  • Maths and English GCSE qualification
  • Be comfortable teaching maths and science.
  • QTS
  • Degree
