Job Summary

We are seeking a passionate and engaging Music Teacher to join our award winning Monkey Music teaching team, specialising in classes for babies, toddlers, and pre-schoolers. The successful candidate will deliver lively, age-appropriate music sessions designed to stimulate early childhood development through musical activities. This role offers an exciting opportunity to inspire young children and foster a love of music in a fun and nurturing environment.
Duties

  • Plan and deliver interactive music classes tailored to babies, toddlers, and pre-schoolers, ensuring activities are engaging and developmentally appropriate.
  • Create a warm, welcoming atmosphere that encourages participation and enjoyment among young children and their carers.
  • Use a variety of musical instruments, props, and visual aids to enhance learning experiences.
  • Foster early language skills, coordination, rhythm awareness, and social interaction through musical activities.
  • Maintain organised class schedules and ensure all equipment and materials are prepared prior to sessions.
  • Monitor children's progress and provide positive reinforcement to support their confidence and enthusiasm for music.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop new programme ideas and improve class content.
  • Skills
  • Proven experience working with young children in an educational or musical setting is desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of early childhood development principles related to music education.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to connect with children, parents, and carers effectively.
  • Creative, energetic, and patient personality with a genuine passion for teaching young children through music.
  • Organised with the ability to plan engaging lessons that cater to different age groups within the programme.
  • Ability to work flexibly within scheduled class times, demonstrating reliability and professionalism.
  • A recognised qualification in music or early childhood education is advantageous but not essential; enthusiasm for continuous learning is important.
  • You must have your own transport and have space to store teaching kit and be willing to transport it to and from your teaching locations which will be in Haddenham, Tring and Aylesbury.
  • Teaching hours will be mornings - a minimum of 2 mornings per week but ideally up to 4.

Pay: From £15.00 per hour
