MAIN PURPOSE OF ROLE

We are seeking a highly organised and ambitious NPD Assistant to support the development and launch of new products across our business.

This is not a traditional administration role. We are looking for someone who wants to build a career within New Product Development and is excited by the challenge of bringing new products from concept through to market launch.

Working directly with the NPD Manager, you will become involved in all stages of the product development lifecycle, including supplier engagement, project coordination, product compliance, technical documentation, market research and product launch activities.

Success in this role will come from excellent organisation, strong commercial awareness, attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

ACCOUNTABILITES

This role will involve the following responsibilities:

• Help coordinate multiple new product development projects from concept through to launch.
• Track project timelines, key milestones and critical deadlines to ensure successful product launches.
• Liaise regularly with suppliers regarding product specifications, samples, technical information, testing requirements and project updates.
• Maintain accurate technical documentation, product specifications, development records and approval documentation.
• Coordinate product testing, certification and compliance activities to ensure products meet relevant standards and requirements.
• Assist with design registrations, intellectual property protection and product registrations.
• Conduct market, competitor and trend analysis to identify opportunities for product innovation and growth.
• Work closely with Technical, Purchasing, Marketing and Operations teams throughout the development process.
• Support launch planning and product launch activities for new product introductions.
• Prepare reports, presentations and project updates for management review.
• Maintain product development databases and project tracking systems.

SKILLS KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE

Essential Skills & Experience

• Exceptional organisational and project coordination skills.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects and competing deadlines simultaneously.
• Strong communication skills with confidence dealing directly with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
• Excellent attention to detail, particularly when managing technical information and documentation.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of tasks.

Desirable Skills & Experience

• Previous experience within product development, project coordination or manufacturing environments.
• Experience managing product specifications, technical documentation or compliance records.
• Experience supporting product certification or quality assurance processes.
• Experience using ERP systems.
• Experience using Adobe Creative Cloud, particularly Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign.
• Qualification in Business, Engineering, Product Design or a related discipline.
• Full UK Driving Licence
