About the School
Goldsmiths’ School of Media, Communications and Cultural Studies is one of the longest established departments for teaching and researching media in the world. Housed in the award-winning Professor Stuart Hall Building, it has an internationally outstanding reputation for creative and radical thinking and practice. We are committed to a vibrant teaching and research programme that combines theory and practice with interdisciplinary engagement with the latest developments in media, communications and cultural studies. The Department is currently ranked 12th in the world (and 2nd in the UK) for communication and media studies (QS World Rankings by subject 2022) and second in the UK for research assessed as 3* and 4* - with 96% of our research evaluated as 'world leading or internationally excellent' in the latest Research Excellence Framework (2021).
About the Role
The role holder will contribute to the delivery, development, and leadership of teaching across the BA Photography programme and associated photography modules on BA Media & Communications and other programmes within the School. They will support a critically engaged, practice-led and research-informed curriculum that reflects Goldsmiths’ reputation for experimental, interdisciplinary, and socially engaged photographic practice.
About the Candidate
We are looking for a candidate that emphasises teaching excellence, curriculum innovation, and pedagogic scholarship within a critically engaged, practice-led context. You will play an exciting role in the further development of our photography teaching across a number of programmes including the newly launched BA (Hons) Photography. You will need a solid background in professional practice and be familiar with the current trends in photography, it’s expanded practices and wider visual culture.
