Job summary
The Office of Rail and Road (ORR) is the independent economic and safety regulator for Britains railways and monitor of performance on Englands strategic road network.

Job description
Corporate Operations leads on finance, HR, IT, security, estates & organisational changes. The ORR is relatively small, so colleagues working in this directorate have a hands-on role in daily operations & a strong understanding of how we work. The Finance and Procurement team covers finance, procurement, business planning, in year business monitoring, oversight of internal audit and financial governance for the organisation. As a result of these activities and its position at the centre, the team works closely with all directorates within the ORR.
The Finance Executive will be responsible for all processing of expenditure, including staff expenses, using the Oracle accounting system to complete day-to-day tasks. They will be responsible for income management including: the raising of invoices, interacting with customers and credit control. They will interact closely with all ORRs directorates and several external stakeholders, such as suppliers of goods and services and the National Audit Office.
The role is crucial in supporting the smooth operation of the organisation and helps to ensure that we maintain strong relationships with external organisations.

We are looking for a highly motivated candidate who will enjoy working in a small and dynamic team, within a multi-disciplinary organisation, and who is capable of working simultaneously on a range of issues, balancing priorities as necessary.

Additional Information
At ORR, our hybrid working means that we currently work from our workplace location a minimum of 40% of our working week, although requirements to attend other offsite locations for official business, also count towards this level of attendance. Working arrangements are subject to continuous review.
