Aromi Management Opportunities – Oxford

Aromi is an independent hospitality company offering freshly prepared, authentic Italian food and drink with a distinctive Sicilian twist.

Following our expansion into Oxford, we are looking for experienced managers to strengthen our local management team and support the continued growth of our Oxford operation.

Opportunities may include Assistant Manager, Café Manager, Restaurant Manager and Venue Manager positions.

The Role

These are hands-on leadership roles with responsibility for daily operations, team performance, customer experience and venue results.

You will lead from the front and work closely with the General Manager and Operations Manager to develop the team, improve venue performance and deliver Aromi’s operational and commercial objectives.

Some roles may include responsibility for both daytime café service and evening dining, including counter and table service.

Operations and Service

  • Lead daily operations across café, counter and/or evening table service.
  • Maintain excellent standards of food quality, service, cleanliness and presentation.
  • Manage busy trading periods with a clear focus on service flow, queue management and customer experience.
  • Ensure opening, closing and shift procedures are completed accurately and consistently.
  • Identify operational issues and take responsibility for following them through to resolution.
  • Support across the Oxford operation when reasonably required.

Team Leadership

  • Lead, train and develop a motivated and high-performing team.
  • Set clear expectations for hospitality, product knowledge, upselling, efficiency and conduct.
  • Provide regular feedback and effective line-management support.
  • Prepare and manage rotas within agreed staffing levels and labour budgets.
  • Ensure the venue is appropriately staffed for expected levels of trade.
  • Manage performance confidently and address issues promptly and constructively.
  • Build a positive, accountable and performance-focused team culture.

Commercial Performance

  • Work towards daily and weekly sales targets.
  • Monitor labour costs, productivity, stock, waste and other key performance indicators.
  • Use scheduling and reporting tools to plan labour effectively.
  • Review performance throughout the day and adjust staffing or operations where necessary.
  • Identify opportunities to increase sales and improve the customer experience.
  • Work with the General Manager and Operations Manager to continually improve venue performance.

Systems and Controls

  • Oversee POS operations and ensure orders and payments are processed accurately.
  • Complete required daily financial checks, reconciliation and reporting.
  • Manage stock levels, ordering, deliveries, transfers, rotation and waste.
  • Maintain accurate operational records and ensure all required paperwork is completed on time.
  • Oversee delivery platforms, ensuring product availability, order accuracy and service quality.
  • Follow company procedures and support the introduction of new systems and ways of working.

Standards and Compliance

  • Maintain high standards of food safety, health and safety, cleanliness and hygiene.
  • Ensure all team members complete the required training and follow company procedures.
  • Keep compliance records accurate, complete and ready for inspection.
  • Maintain consistent standards across every shift and service period.
  • Report maintenance, staffing and operational concerns promptly.

What We’re Looking For

  • Previous experience as a Manager, Assistant Manager or senior supervisor within a busy hospitality environment.
  • A confident, hands-on leader who sets high standards through their own example.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to motivate and develop a team.
  • Commercial awareness, including experience managing labour, sales, stock and waste.
  • Comfortable using POS, scheduling and other digital operational systems.
  • Organised, dependable and calm under pressure.
  • Passionate about excellent food, drink and customer service.
  • Flexible and available to work across weekdays, evenings, weekends and peak trading periods as required.

What We Offer

  • A competitive salary based on the position and your experience.
  • Opportunities ranging from Assistant Manager to Café, Restaurant and Venue Manager.
  • Clear progression opportunities as Aromi continues to grow in Oxford.
  • Structured training and professional development.
  • Support from the General Manager, Operations Manager and wider senior management team.
  • A fast-paced, supportive and ambitious working environment.

Why Join Aromi?

These are not passive management positions. You will be expected to take genuine ownership of your shifts, team and results.

We are looking for managers who want to:

  • Run organised, efficient and disciplined shifts.
  • Build and develop excellent teams.
  • Deliver consistently high operational standards.
  • Create an exceptional experience for every customer.
  • Drive commercial performance every day.
