Job Overview
We are seeking an enthusiastic Apprentice Cook to join our team and assist in preparing nutritious, appealing meals for children in our nursery. This paid apprenticeship offers a fantastic opportunity to develop culinary skills within a supportive childcare setting, ensuring food safety and meal preparation standards are met with energy and precision.

Duties

  • Assist in food preparation and meal assembly for children, following established menus and dietary guidelines
  • Support the kitchen team in cooking a variety of nutritious meals and snacks suitable for young children
  • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in the kitchen area, including proper food storage and sanitation practices
  • Follow food safety procedures diligently to ensure all meals are prepared in a safe environment
  • Help with serving meals to children, ensuring portions are appropriate and presentation is appealing
  • Support the team during food deliveries, inventory checks, and stock rotation
  • Contribute to a positive kitchen environment by working efficiently and maintaining a cheerful attitude
