Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Baker's Assistant to join our bakery team.to cover maternity leave leading into a permanent role for the right candidate . This role involves supporting the baking process, preparing ingredients, and ensuring the smooth operation of daily food production. The successful candidate will gain valuable experience in a professional kitchen environment, assisting with a variety of baking tasks and maintaining high standards of food safety and hygiene. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about culinary arts and food preparation to develop their skills within a friendly and dynamic team.

Hours are 3am till 11-30 Tuesday to Saturday

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation of baked goods, including measuring ingredients and following recipes accurately
  • Support the baking process by loading and unloading ovens
  • Help with food preparation tasks such as mixing, portioning, and rolling pastry
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including washing utensils and equipment
  • Ensure all food safety standards are adhered to during food handling and storage
  • Support stock management by organising ingredients and supplies
  • Assist with general duties as required to support the bakery team in delivering quality products

Skills

  • Experience or interest in food production, food preparation, or cooking is preferred but not essential
  • Be able to start work at 3am
  • Knowledge of kitchen safety protocols and food hygiene standards
  • Previous experience in a bakery, culinary environment, or restaurant setting is advantageous
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure
  • Good communication skills and ability to work well within a team
  • Willingness to learn new techniques and develop culinary skills
  • Basic understanding of baking processes and food safety regulations
