Part-Time Mother's Help – Near St Andrews, Scotland

Are you a caring, experienced and dependable individual who enjoys supporting young families?

We are seeking a warm, nurturing and proactive Mother's Help to join a private family near St Andrews, Scotland, providing valuable support with the care of a young baby and the smooth running of the family home.

This is a rewarding opportunity for someone with childcare or nannying experience who enjoys working in a family environment, is confident caring for young babies and is equally happy helping with everyday household tasks.

The Role

Working closely with the parents, you will become a trusted extra pair of hands, helping to create a calm, caring and well-organised home environment.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Providing attentive, nurturing and age-appropriate care for the baby.
• Supporting feeding, changing, settling and daily routines.
• Engaging in appropriate activities to support the baby's early development.
• Assisting with baby-related laundry, tidying and organisation.
• Helping with light household duties, including general tidying and laundry.
• Preparing simple meals, snacks and refreshments when required.
• Offering practical support to the parents and taking a proactive approach to daily tasks.
• Maintaining a safe, hygienic and comfortable environment.
• Respecting the family's routines, preferences and privacy at all times.

About You

We are looking for someone who is kind, trustworthy, organised and genuinely passionate about caring for children.

The ideal candidate will have:

• Previous childcare or nannying experience, ideally involving newborns or young babies.
• A warm, patient and reassuring approach.
• A reliable, responsible and professional attitude.
• A proactive and flexible approach, with a willingness to help wherever needed.
• The confidence to work independently whilst following the parents' wishes and established routines.
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
• An understanding of childcare safety, safeguarding and confidentiality.

A childcare qualification would be welcomed but is not essential where you can demonstrate relevant practical experience.

A Paediatric First Aid qualification and safeguarding training would be advantageous, or a willingness to undertake relevant training.
