Change Portfolio Manager (Benefits)

Location: London / Hybrid (50% office-based)
Rate: 529.54 per day (Umbrella)
Contract: Contract
Start: ASAP

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Change Portfolio Manager (Benefits) to support a major change portfolio within a large and complex organisation.

This is an exciting opportunity for a Benefits Management professional to take ownership of developing and embedding benefits management capability across a portfolio of change initiatives.

The successful candidate will act as a portfolio-level subject matter expert, helping to shape how benefits are identified, tracked, governed and ultimately realised across programmes and projects.

The Role

As Change Portfolio Manager (Benefits), you will work closely with programme teams and stakeholders to improve and mature benefits management practices across the portfolio.

This is not a role operating within an already mature framework. We are looking for someone comfortable working in ambiguity, building sustainable processes and driving improvements from the ground up.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop portfolio-level benefits management approaches
  • Create and implement Benefits Management Strategies and Benefits Plans
  • Work with programme and project teams to identify, define and track benefits
  • Monitor and report on benefits realisation and performance
  • Manage RAID and dependency tracking relating to benefits delivery
  • Support governance and ensure benefits are embedded within project delivery processes
  • Provide benefits insight and reporting to senior stakeholders
  • Collaborate with teams to improve and embed sustainable benefits capability
  • Support continuous improvement across portfolio and programme delivery

Essential Experience

  • Proven experience in Benefits Management across portfolios or programmes
  • Demonstrable success in benefits tracking, governance and realisation
  • Experience developing and implementing Benefits Management Strategies and Plans
  • Strong RAID and dependency management experience
  • Background in portfolio, programme or change management
  • Experience embedding benefits processes into evolving delivery environments
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
  • Ability to present benefits data and insights to senior audiences

Desirable Experience

  • Project or programme management qualifications (PRINCE2, MSP, APM or equivalent)
  • Experience building or improving benefits management capability
  • BI, reporting or data insight experience
  • Public or private sector backgrounds considered

Working Arrangement

  • Hybrid working model
  • Approximately 50% office-based in London
  • Regular team collaboration days preferred
