Trust: North London Foundation Trust (3 month temporary role)

Location: St Pancras Hospital, NW1 0PE

Pay Band: Band 3 £15.62

Hours: Monday to Friday 9-5PM

Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Financial Accountant to join our team at St Pancras Hospital. Based in London, this role is vital in managing financial reporting and ensuring compliance with industry standards, contributing to our mission of supporting NHS professionals and the healthcare community.

Responsibilities

  • The role will require significant PC usage, therefore the post holder will need to have strong Microsoft Office skills, and in particular, specialist Excel skills
  • Will need to have had extensive experience of using computerised general ledger packages and will need to have good keyboard skills.
  • The post holder must be able to cope with workloads that at times will be heavy and Intensive, and self-manage their time and workloads effectively.
  • The post holder must also have strong numerical skills and be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • To liaise with all customers to build a close working relationship to ensure that any disputes or queries are recorded and communicated to the relevant budget holder in a timely manner.
  • Post Cash from daily bank statements into ledger
  • Match invoices, credits and payments on a daily basis ensuring that customer accounts are kept up to date.
  • To monitor the Trusts daily income to ensure the Aged Debt position is reflected as accurately and up to date as possible.
  • To produce weekly reminder letters to Non Government Customers
  • To produce monthly statements of account for all customers
  • Take part in the quarterly NHS agreement of balance exercise for Debtors and Creditors.
  • To recommend accounts for bad debt provisions and write off
  • To set up new customer accounts and supplier accounts.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Financial Accountant or similar role within the healthcare or public sector.
  • Knowledge of accounting software including Agresso and strong knowledge of Excel
  • Excellent understanding of financial management principles.
