We're looking for a Catering Assistant to join our team at East Cleveland Primary Care Hospital Saltburn-by-the-Sea. In this important role, you'll help provide a safe, high-quality food and beverage service that supports patients, visitors and colleagues every day.

About the Role:

• Salary: £25,495 per annum, pro rata £13.04 per hour

• Hours: 10.5 hours per week
• Working Pattern (2 Week Rolling Rota):
• Week 1: Monday to Thursday Off, Friday to Sunday 15:30 to 18:30
• Week 2: Monday to Thursday 15:30 to 18:30, Friday to Sunday Off
• Please note this is a 6-month fixed term contract
• Location East Cleveland Primary Care Hospital Saltburn-by-the-Sea
• Standard DBS Check Required

What you'll be doing

As a Catering Assistant, you'll play a key role in delivering an effective catering service while ensuring high standards of food safety, hygiene and customer service.

You'll:

• Prepare and serve food and beverages in line with menus and portion requirements
• Maintain high standards of food hygiene and safety, including temperature monitoring
• Clean kitchen, catering and dining areas using a "clean as you go" approach
• Receive, store and rotate stock safely and efficiently
• Operate catering equipment safely and report any faults or concerns
• Support colleagues and work collaboratively as part of the catering team
• Help create a positive experience for patients, visitors and colleagues

What we're looking for

We'd love to hear from you if you have experience in:

• Catering or food service
• Hospitality
• Customer service
• Kitchen or food preparation environments
• Retail or hospitality settings
• Healthcare catering
• Care, support or service-based roles

Most importantly, we're looking for people who:

• Enjoy working as part of a team
• Take pride in delivering high standards
• Are reliable and organised
• Have a positive approach to customer service
• Can follow food safety, hygiene and health and safety procedures
• Are comfortable working in a busy environment

Previous catering experience is beneficial, but we're equally interested in candidates with transferable skills from hospitality, food service, retail or other customer-focused environments.
