Applications are invited for the post of Medical Laboratory Assistant based in the Pathology Department at Ninewells Hospital.
We are a progressive, expanding teaching hospital department with an annual workload of approx 47,000 surgical pathology specimen and 2,000 diagnostic cytology cases.
The base is at Ninewells Hospital, Dundee.
The successful applicants will be required to carry out routine laboratory duties across the various sections of the Department; these will include specimen reception duties & computer data entry, record keeping and providing support to staff carrying out histological dissection, chemical preparation, filing and other basic laboratory procedures in support of Biomedical Scientists and general housekeeping.
Candidates will be educated to SVQ level 3 or can provide evidence that they have equivalent experience or competencies within a laboratory setting.
You will be required to comply with the Code of Conduct for Healthcare Support Workers in Scotland throughout your employment.
Candidates should also have good interpersonal skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
Hours Per Week: 36 hours Monday to Friday.
