This post forms part of a service currently subject to a service improvement and redesign programme. Service delivery models, roles and structures will be reviewed as part of the improvement process, which may result in changes and a consultation process in line with the Trust’s Organisational Change Policy.

The Pennine Network is looking for a Medical Secretary to join our Learning Disabilities Service on a part time, temporary basis. You will have excellent organisational and administrative skills to support the smooth and efficient functioning of the service.
We are inviting applications from individuals with excellent organisation skills and the ability to work on your own or as a member of the wider admin team. The successful candidate will be able to communicate with staff, servicer users, visitors and carers in a professional manner. The successful candidate must be computer literate, able to use Microsoft office packages, be skilled in live minute taking and possess a good telephone manner

The post holder will be organised, professional, committed and will assist in providing a high standard, quality Medical Secretarial service by supporting the medics with meetings, typing including audio typing, diary management, etc. The post holder will need to be a team player with strong communication skills.
The post holder will manage the office administration of the Consultant and other medical staff within the team, providing an efficient and effective secretarial service to support medical staff in maintaining a safe, efficient and effective clinical service.
The post holder will be expected to organise their own time and manage and prioritise their own workload, ensuring urgent matters are dealt with efficiently and that record keeping is accurate and complete. The post holder will be expected to utilise good communication skills to liaise effectively with colleagues and external agencies as required.
The post requires excellent organisational skills including medical audio-typing and live typing. The post holder will utilise a range of technical skills including word-processing, email and computerised diary systems, and employ a range of electronic systems relating to clinical records.
The confidential nature of all work must be understood and safeguarded. The post holder will be expected to cover for absent colleagues as necessary for short periods of time such as annual leave and short-term sickness.
