About the Role

We are looking for an organised and reliable Prescription Clerk to join our team for 18.5 hours a week. The successful candidate will support the efficient processing of repeat prescriptions, liaise with patients, clinicians, and pharmacies, and help ensure a high standard of administrative support within the practice.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process repeat prescription requests in line with practice policies and procedures.
  • Review prescription requests and forward queries to the appropriate clinician.
  • Liaise with local pharmacies regarding prescription enquiries.
  • Handle patient enquiries by telephone, email, and in person.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and update clinical systems as required.
  • Monitor prescription workflows to ensure requests are processed within agreed timescales.
  • Support the administrative team with general office duties when required.
  • Maintain confidentiality and comply with data protection regulations.

Person SpecificationEssential

  • Excellent administrative and organisational skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Good communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Competent IT skills, including Microsoft Office and database systems.
  • Understanding of confidentiality and data protection requirements.

Desirable

  • Previous experience in a GP practice, pharmacy, or healthcare setting.
  • Knowledge of repeat prescription processes.
  • Experience using clinical systems such as EMIS, SystmOne, or Vision.
