Care Group: Emergency Care Collaborative
A self-motivated A&E Receptionist is required to join the Emergency Care Team, supporting clinical staff within the function.
Essentially you will have good IT skills and be able to demonstrate a high degree of customer care skills. It is essential that you can apply good judgement skills while under pressure and be able to empathise with our patients. Experience of working in healthcare setting would therefore be desirable but not essential.

You must be able to assist in covering a 24/7 rota, sometimes at short notice, working 12-hour and/or 6-hour shifts
Provide an efficient service for the reception of patients and their relatives and aid the smooth running of the Emergency Department by assisting nursing staff with non-nursing duties. Deal with enquiries from patients, medical staff and the general public.
Provision of a 24-hour service to include resuscitation, assessment and treatment of acute illness and injury in patients of all ages by appropriately trained experienced staff, according to current national and local standards, and onward referral of patients as appropriate. Call-out facilities to provide emergency care at the site of a major disaster and a decontamination facility are also available with relevant training for staff.
At NCIC, we have an ambition to deliver outstanding healthcare services to the population of North Cumbria. The Trust is committed to creating a centre of excellence in providing rural and remote healthcare and provides a wide range of community and acute services throughout our county.
Our 5 key principles demonstrate our belief in the delivery of ‘safe, high quality care every time’:
