At Leeds University Union, we're here to help over 38,000 students love their time at Leeds. From major Welcome events and Leeds Ball to weekly club nights and live entertainment, you'll play a key role in creating events that students want to attend and remember. Find out more about Leeds University Union at www.luu.ac.uk or follow us on Instagram.

What you'll be doing

As our Commercial Events Lead, you'll oversee the planning and delivery of a varied programme of commercial events across our venues. You'll manage events from initial concept and booking through to delivery, evaluation and future improvements.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Planning and delivering large-scale events and entertainment programmes.
  • Booking and liaising with artists, promoters, suppliers and external partners.
  • Working closely with colleagues across Hospitality, Marketing, Security and Venues teams.
  • Managing event budgets, monitoring performance and helping maximise ticket sales.
  • Ensuring events are safe, well-organised and deliver an excellent customer experience.
  • Leading event operations, including regular evening and weekend working during key events and busy periods.

What we're looking for

We're looking for someone who combines creativity with excellent organisation and attention to detail.

You'll ideally have:

  • Experience working in events, entertainment, hospitality or a similar environment.
  • Experience planning and delivering successful events.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects at once.
  • Confidence working with a range of stakeholders, including students, colleagues and external partners.
  • Experience managing budgets or working towards financial targets.
  • A proactive approach and the ability to work independently.
  • A genuine interest in student culture, trends and creating memorable experiences.

This is an exciting opportunity to shape some of the biggest and most popular events on campus. You'll be joining a friendly, ambitious team that is passionate about creating experiences that bring students together and make a real impact on their university journey.

If you're enthusiastic, creative, highly organised and ready to take the lead on a diverse programme of events, we'd love to hear from you.

What you get in return

The benefits you can enjoy include generous holiday allowance as well as extra Union closed days, extensive opportunities for learning and further development, holiday buy back options, NUS TOTUM Card, onsite venue staff discounts, discounted travel card, and discounted gym membership.

Sounds good?
