Set within 27 acres of beautiful gardens in Ware, Hertfordshire, Fanhams Hall is one of the UK's most distinctive country house venues. We are looking for a Night Porter to become an integral part of our team. As the face of the hotel throughout the night, you will play a vital role in ensuring our guests feel safe, welcomed and cared for, while helping to maintain the exceptional standards for which Fanhams Hall is known.

What you'll be doing

As a Night Porter, you will be the trusted face of the hotel throughout the night, ensuring our guests feel safe, welcomed and cared for from arrival to departure. Our Night Porter will:

  • Act as the main point of contact for guests during overnight hours
  • Carry out regular security and safety checks across the property
  • Assist with late arrivals and early departures
  • Set up public areas for the following day, ensuring cleanliness and presentation
  • Respond to guest requests and emergencies calmly and efficiently
  • Complete night audits and required administrative tasks
  • Liaise with the day team to ensure smooth handovers

Who we're looking for

You'll be a reliable and self-motivated individual who takes pride in delivering exceptional service and creating a positive guest experience, even during the quieter hours of the day. Ideally, our Night Porter will:

  • Have previous night porter, security or hospitality experience preferred but not essential
  • Be reliable, trustworthy and able to work independently
  • Be calm, professional manner with good communication skills
  • Have strong attention to detail and awareness of safety procedures
  • Be comfortable working night shifts, including weekends
  • Have a positive and helpful approach to guest service
