Scope and purpose of Job Description
As a Healthcare Security/Support Worker you will work supporting patients on bed-watches and in A&E, If you hold an SIA Licence you may also be asked to patrol parts of the site and similar security duties when required. However, we also require each staff member to cover across our other job roles as and when required. This may involve residential settings and our secure transport provision.
- Residential is supporting young people (generally) in a supported living environment.
- The Secure transport role involves the transfer of children and adults around the country.
You will be working in environments with both adults and children who have behaviours that challenge and
the role will be to protect the well-being of all persons and to ensure the safekeeping of patients, visitors and staff.
We ensure our staff are trained to the highest level; allowing any scenario to be competently handled and effectively managed.
Main Tasks and Responsibilities
The Healthcare Security/Support Worker will be required to:
· Respond to calls from ward staff and/or site security staff to deal with patients who may have behaviours that challenge.
· Dynamically assess the situation and take the appropriate action to resolve the situation taking all the relevant factors into consideration.
· Treat patients with dignity and respect, always being conscious of their particular requirements and always maintaining a person-centred approach.
· Ensure the safety and well being of your patient and medical staff alike.
· Assist your medical team in the event of an emergency in any way you can.
· Complete timely, factual records as the shift transpires.
· Complete regular and routine training as directed by the Management Team.
· The role whilst mainly working in a hospital environment, may include working within other areas of the Company’s business which may include residential settings and secure transportation of both adults and children.
· You may be required to work between sites.
Education and Skills Required
- Fluency in English (both written and verbal)
- Experience of working with challenging behaviour is desired, but not essential
- Having a 'can-do' attitude towards new tasks
- Ability to adapt to either team or lone working
- Effective verbal and written communication - Essential
- Ability to self manage your workload around the Service User's requirements – Essential
- Competency with modern smart phones
- SIA Qualification that is in date (If applying for the Security officer role)
- Full UK Driving Licence essential for full time employment
Essential Requirements of the role
- Enhanced DBS and subscribed to the update service (will be completed by Exclusive Secure Care Services Limited if required)
- Candidates to work shifts – Generally 12 hours but can vary and are both days and nights- This could change depending on the need of the client
- Available to work Monday to Sunday
All relevant training will be provided by Exclusive Secure Care Services limited.
All candidates will be required to attend a pre-employment Physical Intervention training course as part of the interview process.

- Pay will further progress should you wish to progress towards being a Senior Supervisor starting at £16.00 per hour
- Pay will further progress should you wish to progress towards being a Manager/Team Leader starting at £16.50 an hour
· Job Types: Permanent full time and Zero Hours Contracts.
