Full job description

At Host, we don’t just provide student accommodation – we create thriving communities where students can feel happy, safe and supported throughout their university journey. Our mission? To be the best - and that starts with hiring brilliant people like you!

We are on the lookout for 2 brand new Night Concierges to be the heart of our student community in Waterside, Bristol.

This is a full-time, on-site position, working 40 hours per week on a fixed shift pattern basis. Shifts are typically scheduled from Monday to Sunday between 8pm and 8am, with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break included for shifts over six hours. The role offers a salary of £30,000, reflective of experience and responsibilities.

Why Join Us?

We’re growing fast, but we’re not about just filling rooms – we’re about creating homes. Our team is passionate, open and driven by our values: Happy, Open, Secure and Trusted. We genuinely care about our people and our students and we want a Housekeeper who shares our enthusiasm for building exceptional experiences.

What You’ll Be Doing.
As a Night Concierge, you’ll be at the heart of ensuring students have a clean, safe, and welcoming place to call home. Your role will include:

  • Creating an exceptional student experience - Provide an overnight on-site presence to ensure resident and building security, monitor CCTV and carrying out regular patrols and control site access for residents, visitors, and contractors
  • Providing a friendly and approachable presence - Act as the overnight first point of contact for residents and visitors, maintain accurate logs, incident reports, and shift handovers and deliver professional front-of-house service and handle enquiries efficiently
  • Delivering high cleaning standards - Ensure the site is clean, safe, and presentable; identify and report maintenance issues and health and safety risks

Who We’re Looking For.
We’re after a hardworking, detail-focused team player who is passionate about providing a safe and welcoming environment. Ideally, you’ll have:

  • Experience in a customer-facing, concierge, security, hospitality, student accommodation, or residential environment.
  • An SIA licence or similar is preferable.
  • The ability to remain calm, confident, and professional when responding to incidents, complaints, emergencies, or challenging behaviour.
  • Good awareness of health and safety, fire safety, safeguarding, and building security procedures.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to handle enquiries clearly, sensitively, and professionally.

What’s in It for You?

At Host, we know that happy teams create the best student experiences. Here’s what you’ll get in return:

  • Career growth – we invest in training and development to help you reach your potential.
  • A great work culture – friendly, supportive and built on trust.
  • A role with purpose – making a real difference in students’ lives.
  • Competitive salary & benefits – because great work deserves great rewards.

Benefits include:

  • 25 days holiday plus bank holidays (pro-rata for part time staff)
  • Extra day off on your Birthday
  • Extra day off annually for volunteering
  • Life insurance
  • Access to our Employee Assistance Programme
  • Plus, all the standard stuff like a pension & cycle to work scheme
