Support Worker
Pay Rate: £13.50 Per Hour
Shift Pattern: 08:00am-20:00pm - 20:00pm-08:00am
We are looking for compassionate, reliable, and enthusiastic Support Workers to join our growing Bank Team across Greater Manchester. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals who are passionate about making a positive difference in people's lives while benefiting from flexible working arrangements and the opportunity to work across a variety of support packages.
As part of our Bank Team, you may provide support to individuals with autism, learning disabilities, complex care needs, and other additional support requirements, delivering person-centred care tailored to each individual's unique needs and goals.
One of our current support packages involves supporting a young woman living independently in her own flat in Greater Manchester on a 2:1 basis, during both day and night shifts. She has Autism and Global Developmental Delay, but these do not define or limit her. She lives a vibrant and active life and enjoys a range of activities, including shopping trips, having her nails done, attending nightclubs, and being involved in her local community.
Experience and Skills of a Support Worker:
- Previous experience supporting adults with learning disabilities and/or autism.
- A person-centred approach, with a genuine commitment to promoting independence, choice, and empowerment.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive and trusting relationships.
- A proactive, flexible, and positive attitude, adapting support to meet individual needs and preferences.
- A kind, patient, and compassionate nature, with a consistent and reliable approach to care and support.
- The ability to remain calm and professional in a variety of situations.
- A good understanding of professional boundaries and the importance of dignity, respect, and inclusion.
- A willingness to support an active lifestyle and participate in community-based activities and social outings.
- A strong team ethic and commitment to providing high-quality, consistent support.
