About SwapTix

The secondary ticket market has become complicated and, for many people, unfair. Customers face hidden fees, confusing policies and uncertainty when they need to change plans or resell tickets.

SwapTix is building a fair, transparent and safe platform for secondary ticket resale. Our aim is to create a clear, trustworthy experience when real money, access and time-sensitive events are involved.

We are currently pre-launch, with our legal, financial and technical foundations already in place and the first version of the product in active development. We are now hiring a Product & Brand Designer to work directly with our team and define how SwapTix looks, feels and communicates.

SwapTix is supported by CityVentures and works from Venture Space at Bayes Business School in London.

Who we're looking for

This role is scoped at an early-career level. We care much more about the quality of your work, your judgement, your ownership and your ability to learn than the number of years you have worked.

We are looking for someone with strong design fundamentals, good judgement, evidence that they can take ownership of real work, and the ability to learn quickly. You might come from product design, UX/UI, brand design, or a combination. What matters most is the quality of your work and how you think.

The role

You will own how SwapTix presents itself: the product interface, the design system beneath it, and the brand and creative work that carries it into the world.

The role spans product and brand. Strong product judgement is essential, because the product itself is genuinely complex, people are moving money, buying and reselling valuable tickets, and relying on us when something goes wrong, and all of that has to feel simple and trustworthy. Alongside that, we are looking for someone capable of helping build a distinctive SwapTix visual identity from the ground up.

We are a small team and everybody works across more than their job title. We would rather you brought us ideas than waited to be handed them. We are early, and there is real scope for the right person to grow with the company as it does.

Your initial priorities will be the core product experience, the SwapTix design system and visual identity, and the creative work needed for launch. As the company grows, the role will naturally expand across adjacent product and brand work.

In this role you will:

  • Own product and UX design end-to-end, covering the core transactional journeys (listing, buying, reselling, payments, verification and post-transaction states) and their edge cases: errors, cancellations, refunds and disputes, timeouts and failed payments.
  • Build and maintain the design system from scratch, including components, patterns, typography and the standards that keep the product consistent as it grows.
  • Lead our visual and brand identity, and define how SwapTix looks and sounds.
  • Create the brand assets we use day to day, including the logo, icons, typography and imagery, and keep them consistent across the product, the site and everything we publish.
  • Produce creative and marketing assets, including campaign and social content, launch material and the visual work behind how we reach people.
  • Design the launch experience, including the marketing site and onboarding.
  • Work closely with our engineer to get your designs into production, not just into Figma.
  • Test and iterate with real users, improving clarity and trust in the journeys where money is involved.
  • Get involved wherever else the team needs it.

About you: Essential

  • A strong portfolio showing real product work: the problem, your process, the flows and the outcome, not only finished screens.
  • Strong product and UX fundamentals, with sound judgement around clarity, hierarchy and trust.
  • Very good visual design judgement.
  • The ability to turn a messy problem into clear flows and interfaces.
  • Evidence that you have personally owned and shipped work, rather than contributed to it at the edges.
  • Comfortable collaborating closely with founders, and happy to work outside your job title, which is simply how a company at our stage operates.
  • Proactive and self-directed. You clarify assumptions and move without waiting for perfect specs.
  • High standards around ethics, transparency and trust. No dark patterns, and clear expectations for users when money and risk are involved.
  • London-based (or able to commute) and able to join in-person working sessions 2–3 days per week.
  • Right to work in the UK. We are not able to offer visa sponsorship.

Particularly useful

None of these are required, but any of them would strengthen an application:

  • Experience designing transactional flows where people pay, book or reserve something.
  • Experience with marketplaces or two-sided platforms.
  • Experience in ticketing, live events, travel, fintech or other time-sensitive, high-trust sectors.
  • Having built a brand or visual identity from scratch.
  • Campaign, social or content creative work.
  • Motion, illustration, photography or video.
  • Front-end development (React, TypeScript, HTML, CSS). Not a requirement, but useful for prototyping and contributing directly to implementation.
  • Experience taking a product or brand through a launch.

Working pattern

  • Contract: Full-time employment.
  • Location: London, hybrid. A mix of remote work and scheduled in-person collaboration from Venture Space.
  • Start date: As soon as possible, with some flexibility for the right candidate.

How to apply

Applying takes two steps. Apply through Indeed, and complete our application form.

Link to the form: https://forms.gle/QZeHhjMBUPHxjswW6

The form asks about the work you have personally shipped, how you think about product and brand, and how you approach problems in an early-stage environment. It uses your existing work, we will not ask you to produce anything new for it.

Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to a conversation with the team.

If you need a reasonable adjustment at any stage of the recruitment process, please contact us and we will be happy to discuss what would help.

If you have any questions please email us at careers@swaptix.co.uk
