Purpose of Job
Doughty Street Chambers is a set of internationally renowned barristers with a reputation for excellence. We specialise in many areas of law across multiple jurisdictions, often in cases which have a strong emphasis on human rights and civil liberties and offer our clients a commitment to hard work and an innovative, multi-disciplinary approach.
The main priority of this role is to assist and provide administrative support to the existing Criminal Clerking Team.
Key responsibilities
· Gather listings for next day’s diary
· Notify counsel and solicitors of listings and provide access to papers or DCS access
· Prepare and provide dates to avoid and CVP links if required
· Chase missing representation orders and court references
· Assist Practice Managers with listing requests
· Assist with printing and court run requests
· Chase up missing results and attendance notes
· Assist with telephone calls and email enquiries

PERSON SPECIFICATION
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS EXPERIENCE
· Have a minimum of 5 GCSEs at Grade A-C, including Maths and English, or equivalent.
· Have excellent communication skills, verbal (including a good telephone manner) and in writing.
· Evidence of the ability to multi-task under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
· Be familiar with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, and Excel).
· Be flexible in the nature and range of tasks required for the daily operation of Chambers.
· Be well organised and efficient.
· Ability to provide suitable solutions based on the information available and see tasks through to completion.
· High levels of personal integrity.
· Awareness of and commitment to principles of Equality and Diversity.
· Be highly motivated and trustworthy.
PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES
