Garden Centre Assistant

We are seeking a friendly, reliable, and hardworking individual to join our team at the garden centre. This is a varied and hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys working both outdoors and with customers. The successful candidate will be able to work well independently as well as part of a team.

This is a part-time position working 1–2 days per week, including weekends. Flexibility is essential, as the successful candidate must be available to work both Saturday and Sunday when required. Additional hours may be available during our busiest periods.

No previous experience is necessary, as full training and induction will be provided. However, experience in customer service, retail, or till operation would be beneficial.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

• Providing excellent customer service and assisting customers with enquiries
• Operating tills and handling transactions accurately
• Watering and caring for a wide variety of plants
• Weeding, tidying, and removing debris from garden and display areas
• Assisting with seed germination and plant propagation
• Monitoring plants for pests and diseases and reporting any issues
• Using and maintaining gardening tools and equipment safely
• Helping to maintain a clean, organised, and welcoming environment throughout the garden centre
