PIP Functional Assessor | £42,985–£44,985 + Bonus

South West | Hybrid Working | Monday to Friday

Are you ready to put your clinical experience to work in a different way?

We're looking for registered healthcare professionals who want to move away from traditional frontline clinical work while continuing to make use of their knowledge, assessment skills and experience.

As a PIP Functional Assessor, you'll explore how an individual's health conditions or disabilities affect their daily living and mobility, producing clear, evidence-based reports that support informed decision-making.

No previous Functional Assessor experience is required. Full training is provided.

Your Role as a PIP Functional Assessor

You'll conduct structured consultations with individuals living with a range of physical and mental health conditions, using your clinical knowledge to understand how these affect their everyday activities.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Carrying out functional assessments, exploring daily living and mobility needs.
  • Reviewing medical evidence and relevant clinical information.
  • Discussing how health conditions impact an individual's functional abilities.
  • Producing accurate, detailed and evidence-based assessment reports.
  • Applying your clinical judgement to provide objective recommendations.
  • Managing your workload while maintaining high standards of quality and professionalism.

This is a non-treatment role, allowing you to continue using your clinical expertise without the demands of traditional shift-based healthcare.

Who We're Looking For

We welcome applications from registered healthcare professionals with at least 12 months' post-registration experience, including:

  • Registered Nurses (RGN, RMN, RNLD)
  • Physiotherapists
  • Occupational Therapists
  • Paramedics
  • Pharmacists

You'll need current registration with the NMC, HCPC or GPhC, alongside strong communication skills, good IT literacy and the ability to produce clear written reports.

Previous assessment experience is not essential.

Structured Training & Inclusive Support

You'll complete a comprehensive, inclusive training programme designed to help you transition confidently into the Functional Assessor role.

You'll receive ongoing clinical oversight, constructive feedback and professional support throughout your development, ensuring you have the guidance needed to succeed.
