Full job description
Are you passionate about making a positive difference to people's mental health through evidence-based psychological therapies? We're offering an exciting opportunity to train as a Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner within our Peterborough & Cambridgeshire Talking Therapies Service, working as part of a supportive and forward-thinking team at Everyturn Mental Health.
In this role, you will undertake a fully funded Post-graduate Psychological Wellbeing Practice programme through the University of Essex. You'll combine academic study with hands-on clinical experience, spending time attending university teaching, completing independent study, and developing your practical skills within our service under the supervision of experienced clinicians and supervisors.
Our experienced managers and supervisors will guide your development throughout the programme. We have an excellent track record of supporting trainees through their studies and into qualified roles.
The position is open to both graduates and non-graduates. Applicants who do not hold a degree must have studied to Level 5 (including GCSE or equivalent in Maths and English) and be able to evidence a minimum of 12 months' relevant experience working within a mental health setting.
This role is not eligible for sponsorship as it does not meet the requirements as set out by UK Visas and Immigration.
Key Dates
Interview Date: Friday 17th July 2026
University Induction Morning: Tuesday 29th September 2026
Course Start Date: Monday 5th October 2026
University teaching days will initially take place on Tuesdays, with a second teaching day to be confirmed by the University. The programme will be delivered through a blended learning model, with approximately 60% of teaching taking place in person and 40% delivered remotely.
Attendance at all university teaching days is mandatory.
Key info:

- Applicants must be able to commit to both the academic and clinical components of the course.
- Upon successful completion of the course and meeting all required criteria, you will progress into a Qualified Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner role within our service.
- During your in-service days, you will follow a hybrid working model.
- You will work Monday to Friday.
We would love to hear from you if you possess the following:
- Degree educated, ideally in a related field (e.g. Psychology, Behavioural Science, Health or Social Care). For applicants without a degree, please refer to the criteria outlined above.
- Proven track record of working positively with people who have experienced mental ill health within a health, social care, voluntary sector or community setting.
- Highly resilient with the ability to meet the attendance and academic requirements of the course whilst also managing the demands of working within a clinical service.

- Able to work to required performance and service targets.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to build effective relationships and work collaboratively.
