Senior Ambulance Care Assistant – Patient Transport Services

Location: Lower Sydenham, London, SE26 5BA

£34,918.00 per annum

Permanent and Full Time (42.5 hours per week)

You will be required to ensure the seamless, high-quality, and safe day-to-day delivery of Patient Transport Services (PTS) operations by providing expert supervision and direction to operational staff, with a strong focus on maximising the efficiency of patient journeys and adherence to all clinical and contractual standards.


This role is a vital extension of the Senior Leadership Team, requiring the job holder to actively champion the business unit's strategic goals, targets, and values. As a Senior Ambulance Care Assistant you will serve as a key driver for continuous operational improvement by identifying best practices and implementing change across the team.


Furthermore, the role capability to deputise for the People & Standards Quality Manager (PQSM) when absent, undertaking necessary operational and managerial responsibilities to ensure uninterrupted service continuity and performance.


What You Bring

  • Essential: A Full UK manual driving licence and at least 2 years of driving experience.
  • Leadership Qualities: Strong interpersonal skills and a common-sense approach to problem-solving.
  • Empathy & Commitment: A genuine desire to help others and maintain high standards under pressure.

You should be calm under pressure, analytical, solution-focused, and committed to continuous improvement.


You must have excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and attention to detail.


Excellent written and verbal communication skills are a must, as well as being able to demonstrate the ability to work to tight deadlines, maintain confidentiality, have the ability to prioritise workload, maintain high levels of accuracy and challenge where necessary.


We are looking for a highly motivated leader, with the ability to be resilient, confident with a tenacious can-do attitude. You must have the ability to embrace complexity, be a part of a busy and fast paced environment and be flexible and adaptable to deal with ever-changing scenarios.


A proven professional with professionalism and integrity, you will play an integral part of the G4S Patient Transport Services Team.
