Technical Manager

Location: NN3 Northampton Shift: Monday – Friday (Days) Salary: Competitive Salary + Discretionary Bonus Scheme

About the Role

We are seeking a multi skilled, hands-on, Engineering Technician to join our team in a senior role that bridges technical assistance and commercial skills. This is an ideal transition role for a time-served Engineer looking to step into their first management position within a Skilled Engineering environment.

You will be responsible for Servicing Local Key Accounts, while using your commercial skills to maximize profitability from our existing client base, and networking to bring on new accounts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Technical Operation: Provide hands-on Engineering skills and troubleshooting support. You will be working with mechanical and, sometimes, electrical needs, day in – day out
  • Management: Maintain a high level of professionalism – and High Quote Percentage from understanding customer needs and wants – working with office to make sure projects run smoothly, and to time and budget constraints
  • Commercial Growth: Actively manage our established customer base. Use your business acumen to understand costs, quote for multiple projects, and identify new opportunities to increase turnover and profit.
  • Business Development: Proactively network to identify and secure new clients, expanding our market reach.
  • Quality & Precision: Interpret complex engineering drawings, manage maintenance/tooling requirements, and ensure meticulous attention to detail in all deliverables.
  • Problem Solving: Apply a logical, methodical approach to complex engineering challenges, ensuring downtime is minimized and solutions are sustainable.

Pay: £40,000.00-£50,000.00 per year
