Overview

Join our vibrant culinary team as a Jr Sous Chef and become a vital leader in our kitchen.

We are currently recruiting for our busy food led site, The Black Horse.

In this energetic role, you will oversee food production, manage kitchen operations, and inspire your team to achieve culinary excellence. Your passion for food, leadership skills, and dedication to hospitality will help maintain the highest standards of food safety and quality.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Head Chef in supervising daily kitchen operations, ensuring smooth workflow and high-quality food preparation
  • Lead and motivate kitchen staff, fostering a positive team environment focused on collaboration and excellence
  • Oversee food production processes, ensuring dishes are prepared efficiently, consistently, and to the highest standards
  • Manage food safety protocols, including proper handling, storage, and sanitation practices to comply with health regulations
  • Support food presentation and serving procedures to enhance guest satisfaction and uphold restaurant standards
  • Train new team members on food preparation techniques, safety procedures, and service expectations
  • Monitor inventory levels and assist in ordering supplies to maintain optimal stock for kitchen operations

Requirements

  • Proven supervising experience in a fast-paced restaurant or hospitality setting
  • Strong background in food production, cooking, and culinary techniques with extensive kitchen experience
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to manage teams effectively and foster a collaborative environment
  • Knowledge of food safety standards and best practices in hygiene and sanitation
  • Experience with food preparation, plating, and serving in a professional setting
  • Excellent communication skills to coordinate with staff and ensure seamless service delivery
