Reports to: Commercial Director

Salary: Dependent on experience + uncapped commission

Hours: Full-time 37.5 hours/week

Location: (Hybrid) Head office in Norwich with UK travel

About us and the opportunity

This is an exciting time to join one of the wine industry's best-loved brands as we embark on a dynamic growth journey. We're on a mission to be the UK's most rewarding online and B2B wine retailer, and as part of our plans, we're looking for someone to join our successful Commercial Sales Team and play a key role in our future success.

Here at Virgin Wines, we believe that life is for living to the fullest, and this applies to our work ethic as well as our desire to enjoy top quality wine. If you’re a driven, glass half full kind of person, Virgin Wines might just be the place for you.

Virgin Wines Commercial

Over the past decade, Virgin Wines Commercial has established itself as one of the UK's leading B2B wine and gifting businesses, partnering with some of the country's most recognisable brands including Moonpig, Ocado, WHSmith Travel, London North East Railway (LNER) Avanti West Coast and many more.

As we continue our ambitious growth journey, we're looking for a driven and commercially minded professional to join our high-performing Commercial Sales team. This is an exciting opportunity to develop strategic partnerships, win new business and play a key role in shaping the future growth of a thriving channel within one of the UK's most recognised wine brands.

The Role

As a Commercial Partnerships Manager, you will be responsible for identifying, securing and growing a portfolio of B2B clients across a range of sectors. Working with both established businesses and prospective partners, you will develop tailored wine, spirits and gifting solutions that drive value for customers whilst delivering profitable growth for Virgin Wines.

You'll enjoy a high degree of autonomy, taking ownership of your sales pipeline and developing creative commercial partnerships with some of the UK's leading brands. Success in this role requires ambition, resilience, strong relationship-building skills and a consultative approach to selling.

If you're motivated by winning new business, building long-term partnerships and being rewarded for your success, we'd love to hear from you.

What your responsibilities will be

  • Proactively identify, target and convert new business opportunities across a range of B2B sectors.
  • Develop and present compelling commercial proposals tailored to each client's objectives and requirements.
  • Create partnerships spanning retail and reseller channels, employee incentives, customer loyalty and retention programmes, corporate gifting, events, wholesale supply and other innovative commercial opportunities.
  • Build, manage and grow long-term client relationships, identifying opportunities to increase sales and partnership value over time.
  • Negotiate commercial agreements and successfully manage opportunities through to completion.
  • Take full ownership of your sales pipeline, delivering against ambitious revenue and profit targets.
  • Maintain accurate records and activity tracking through Salesforce CRM.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless delivery and outstanding customer experience.

What we’d love you to bring to the table

  • We're looking for an ambitious sales professional who thrives on building relationships and uncovering new opportunities.

You’ll ideally have:

  • A consultative and relationship-led approach to business development.
  • Strong commercial awareness and the ability to identify profitable growth opportunities.
  • Excellent communication, presentation and negotiation skills.
  • A proactive, resilient and self-motivated mindset.
  • The confidence to engage with stakeholders at all levels, from buyers and category managers to senior decision-makers.
  • A proven ability to manage a pipeline and deliver against sales targets.

Experience & Skills

  • A minimum of 2 years' B2B sales experience, ideally within retail, incentives, gifting, wholesale, partnerships or a related commercial environment.
  • Demonstrable experience of winning and growing business relationships.
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Experience using Salesforce or a similar CRM platform would be advantageous, although training will be provided.
  • An interest in wine and the wider drinks industry is beneficial but not essential.

Perks we bring to the table

  • Generous staff discount across our products
  • Funded WSET (Wine & Spirit Education Trust) training
  • 25 days of annual leave, increasing to 30 days with service (plus bank holidays)
  • Access to our Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) for wellbeing support
  • Membership to the Virgin Family Platform where you can enjoy exclusive discounts, cross-company networking, mentoring opportunities, and more
  • Access to Help@hand, our comprehensive wellbeing platform which includes 24/7 online GP appointments, physiotherapy, nutritional advice, personal training sessions, and more
  • Death-in-service benefit for peace of mind
  • Enhanced maternity leave package, increasing with length of service
  • Paid Paternity leave.
