Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Nursery Practitioner Level 3 to join our childcare team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality care and education to children within a nurturing environment. This role requires strong management and leadership skills, along with a genuine passion for working with children. The practitioner will play a vital part in supporting children's development, ensuring their safety, and fostering a positive learning atmosphere. This is a paid position suitable for individuals committed to early childhood education and professional growth.

Duties

  • Planning and delivering engaging activities that support children’s developmental needs in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework
  • Supervising children at all times to ensure their safety and well-being
  • Building strong relationships with children, parents, and colleagues through effective communication
  • Managing daily routines including meal times, naps, and outdoor play
  • Monitoring children's progress and maintaining accurate records of their development
  • Organising and leading group activities that promote social skills, creativity, and learning
  • Supporting the induction and mentoring of junior staff or trainees where applicable
  • Ensuring the nursery environment is clean, safe, and stimulating at all times
  • Assisting with administrative tasks related to child records and compliance documentation
  • Driving responsibilities may include transporting children safely when required

Experience

  • Proven experience working within a nursery or early childhood setting, ideally at Level 3 qualification or equivalent
  • Demonstrable management skills and leadership qualities in a childcare environment
  • Experience working directly with children across different age groups
  • Strong understanding of child development principles and early childhood education practices
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team whilst demonstrating leadership when necessary
  • Valid driving licence is desirable for roles involving transportation duties
