Full job description

Daisy Daycare is looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated team player who has a passion for working with children.

We are currently looking to recruit a Senior/ Lead Early Years Practitioner..

The role of the Senior Early Years Practitioner is to work with the Management and nursery team to promote, encourage and ensure excellent practice throughout the setting and to be a positive role model to fellow team members.

The ideal candidate would have:

· A sound knowledge of documents such as Realising the Ambition, GIRFEC and Curriculum For Excellence

· Excellent communication skills

· The ability to work as part of a team as well as use their own initiative

· A passion for being outdoors, and have a clear understanding of the many benefits outdoor play can provide

· The ability and knowledge to plan, track, evaluate and record learning experiences for individual children

· Support and promote positive professional relationships with the children, their families and other staff members

· The ability to motivate and lead a staff team and hold room meetings

You will also be responsible for creating stimulating learning experiences, developing the nursery environment and resources in order to facilitate a nurturing, caring, curious and warm environment.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates must:

· Hold an HNC, SVQ3 or higher qualification in childcare

· Have at least 2 years’ experience working within a nursery setting as a fully qualified practitioner

· Be registered with SSSC

· Be registered with PVG Scotland

Rate of pay will reflect qualifications and experience and will be discussed at interview.

Full time and part time candidates welcome to apply. Days and hours can also be discussed at interview.
