Tam’s House Montessori Nursery

Tam’s House is a unique, home-from-home nursery set within a beautifully converted Victorian townhouse. Following a thoughtful transformation, the nursery has become a warm, nurturing environment for 18 children supported by a dedicated team of 8 staff members. Since opening, the nursery has operated at full capacity and continues to maintain an excellent reputation with families.

We are currently looking for a kind, caring, and enthusiastic Early Years Practitioner to join our Pre-School Room team.

This role would suit someone passionate about early years education who is looking to further develop their career within a supportive environment while learning the Montessori approach to teaching and child development.

About the Nursery

The nursery consists of two carefully designed learning environments:

  • The Loft – for younger children
  • The Den – for older children

Each room caters for a maximum of 9 children, allowing for highly personalised care and learning experiences.

We combine the Montessori method with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework to support children’s holistic development. Learning areas include:

  • Practical Life
  • Sensorial Learning
  • Cultural Studies
  • Maths
  • Language
  • ICT
  • Imaginative & Creative Play
  • Quiet/Reflection Areas

The Role

As an Early Years Practitioner, you will:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging activities tailored to individual children’s needs
  • Support children’s learning, development, and wellbeing
  • Take responsibility for key children and maintain developmental records
  • Monitor, assess, and track children’s progress
  • Produce written observations and reports to a high standard
  • Work collaboratively as part of a supportive nursery team

Requirements

  • Essential: NVQ Level 3 in Childcare
  • Previous experience working with children aged 2–5 within a professional childcare setting
  • Good standard of written English
  • Positive, caring, and enthusiastic attitude
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a small team

No previous Montessori experience is required — full support and ongoing training will be provided.
