About You:
We are seeking to appoint an experienced, enthusiastic and committed classroom practitioner with recent and relevant experience in a primary setting. Candidates should be committed to improving academic standards and the quality of education through; effective questioning, engagement, positive relationships and feedback. We are looking for candidates who are hard-working, dynamic, and resilient to join and contribute to our journey.
About us:
We are a happy, friendly and hard working team driven to provide the very best for our children, families and community. Our core values of; respect, responsibility and resilience run through everything we do and support our children in becoming the very best that they can be. Our children are polite, courteous and inclusive, we are often complimented on our behaviour and manners when we venture out of school or receive visitors. Reading is at the heart of our school and we have a commitment to ensuring ALL children get off to the very best start. Our overarching aim is ‘Excellence for All’ and we achieve this through our strong relationships with children and families. We believe that knowing and understanding a child’s needs is how to get the very best out of them. Improving and supporting staff wellbeing is a high priority for Senior Leaders.
In May 2024 we had a very successful Ofsted inspection, achieving an outstanding judgement in three areas of which we are very proud. We are now building upon this success and striving for continuous school improvement. You can read our report here: https://reports.ofsted.gov.uk/provider/21/121331
What can we offer you?:
You will be well supported by Senior Leaders and the wider staff team and take part in a thorough induction programme which will enable you to observe our experienced and highly skilled teachers and support staff in the classroom. You will receive Little Wandle training and a comprehensive package of regular safeguarding training and updates. All staff have 24/7 access to the NYCC Health Assured Scheme who can provide support with any difficulties you may experience at work or at home.
Our Senior Leaders are committed to staff wellbeing and reducing workload; regular surveys give staff a voice and help leaders make continuous improvements. You will have access to regular CPD and be part of a collaborative phase team who meet regularly to and refine practice. Our experienced and passionate SENCO, along with external agencies, will provide the support you need to help vulnerable learners access the curriculum through appropriate adaptations.
Our pedagogy strips back unnecessary cognitive load for children, using a carefully mapped out, small-steps curriculum that builds on prior knowledge. We are a worksheet-free school, focusing instead on highquality interactions, oracy, and supporting children with high-quality written reflections. A curriculum with minimal formal testing allows you to focus your energy on delivering impactful, trust-based classroom support.
