We are a well-established, tight-knit construction company with a team of three hands-on employees.

Alongside our active construction operations, we manage and maintain a substantial, fast-growing portfolio of

residential/commercial rental properties. We are now looking for a highly capable, self-motivated individual to

take ownership of our back-office, financial bookkeeping, and property administration.

The Role:

As the fourth member of our team, you will act as the operational backbone of our company. This is a dual-

focus role requiring a sharp mind for figures and strong organizational skills. You will split your focus between

managing our day-to-day construction accounting and overseeing the administrative workflows of our rental

portfolio.

Key Bookkeeping & Financial Responsibilities:

Bank Reconciliation: Execute daily reconciliation of bank accounts across both the construction company

and rental portfolio accounts.

Payroll Processing: Manage weekly/monthly payroll for our 3 direct employees, including pension

submissions.

CIS Management: Verify subcontractors with HMRC, calculate precise Construction Industry Scheme

(CIS) deductions, and submit monthly CIS returns.

VAT Returns: Prepare and submit quarterly VAT returns, navigating the complex rules of the Domestic

Reverse Charge (DRC) for construction services.

Ledger Management: Match supplier invoices to delivery notes, input financial records accurately into

cloud accounting systems, and execute regular payment runs.

Hiring & Interview Package 1Key Property Administration Responsibilities:

Rent Tracking: Monitor incoming tenant rental payments, systematically log transactions, and

professionally chase any arrears.

Cost Allocation: Ensure maintenance, material, and repair costs are meticulously tagged to specific rental

properties for optimized end-of-year tax filing.

What We Are Looking For:

Proven experience as a Bookkeeper, ideally within the construction or property sector.

Strong, functional knowledge of HMRC guidelines, including CIS rules and construction VAT.

Proficiency with modern cloud accounting software (e.g., Xero, Online).

Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage time independently in an autonomous small-

business environment.

A professional, clear communicator when dealing with suppliers, and subcontractors.

What We Offer:

Highly competitive hourly rate tailored to your level of experience.

True flexibility—we can design your weekly schedule around school hours, family responsibilities, or other

flexible work routines.

A welcoming, transparent, and low-drama work environment where your contributions directly influence

Pay: £15.00-£20.00 per hour

Benefits:

  • Casual dress
  • Free parking
  • On-site parking

Experience:

  • bookkeeping: 2 years (preferred)

Work Location: In person
