A Snapshot of Your Day
As an Offshore Service Technician, you will be responsible for the comprehensive service, maintenance, and repair of Siemens Gamesa Direct Drive Wind Turbines in an offshore environment. This role involves transferring to the windfarm via CTV. You will play a crucial part in ensuring the high availability and optimal performance of one of the world's largest offshore wind farms. Your primary duties will include performing scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, troubleshooting complex electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems, and executing component repairs. A significant aspect of this position is the unwavering commitment to safety. You will be an active safety leader, ensuring strict compliance with all company and legislative EHS standards, correctly reporting incidents, and working safely at heights and in confined spaces as part of a dedicated technical team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical aptitude, preferably with experience in the wind industry or a transferable background in electrical, mechanical, or hydraulic maintenance from industrial, military, or automotive sectors. You must be a motivated, independent problem-solver who is physically and mentally prepared for the demands of offshore work. A high school diploma or equivalent is required, with a technical education being highly advantageous.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Ensure all offshore technicians hold valid GWO certifications, medicals, and site-specific training requirements prior to mobilization, maintaining full compliance with UK offshore safety regulations and Siemens Energy HSE standards.
- Manage training records and qualification matrices, proactively identifying expiries and coordinating renewals to ensure workforce readiness.
- Coordinate resource scheduling, travel logistics, and offshore personnel transfers to support project continuity and minimize operational downtime.
- Act as the primary point of contact for offshore technicians regarding payroll, expenses, and operational queries, providing timely support and resolution.
- Prepare reports and workforce data insights to support operational planning, compliance monitoring, and resource forecasting.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, contractors, and site teams to ensure offshore projects are appropriately staffed with qualified personnel.
What You Bring
- 3+ years of experience in resource coordination, crew management, workforce planning, or logistics within offshore wind, maritime, renewable energy, or oil & gas environments.
- Strong understanding of offshore operations, technician mobilization processes, and UK offshore safety requirements.
- Experience managing GWO certifications, medical requirements, training records, and compliance documentation.
- Knowledge of HSE standards and best practices within offshore environments.
- Proven ability to maintain accurate training matrices and ensure workforce compliance.
- Excellent planning, scheduling, and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with experience supporting technicians, contractors, and operational teams.
- Ability to resolve issues proactively and maintain strong working relationships across diverse stakeholders.
- Experience using resource management, scheduling, or workforce planning systems.
- Strong reporting and data analysis capabilities with a keen attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, for workforce tracking and reporting.
