Job Overview

We are seeking a highly qualified and dedicated Offshore Medic to provide essential medical support in a challenging and dynamic environment at sea. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering immediate medical care, conducting health assessments, and ensuring the well-being of personnel on board. This role requires a proactive individual with excellent clinical skills, resilience, and the ability to operate effectively under pressure. The Offshore Medic will play a vital part in maintaining safety standards and supporting emergency response procedures during offshore operations.

Responsibilities

  • Provide prompt and effective medical treatment to personnel experiencing injuries or illnesses while offshore.
  • Conduct physical examinations and assess patient conditions accurately, utilising comprehensive physiology knowledge.
  • Perform basic life support (BLS) and advanced first aid procedures in emergency situations.
  • Manage triage processes to prioritise patient care based on severity of conditions.
  • Assist with medical documentation, ensuring accurate recording of treatments administered and patient progress.
  • Maintain medical supplies and equipment, ensuring proper sterilisation and readiness at all times.
  • Collaborate with emergency response teams during critical incidents or evacuations, including driving emergency vehicles if required.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including infection control standards.

Experience

  • Proven experience in critical care environments or hospital settings is essential.
  • Demonstrated competence in patient care, physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology.
  • Skilled in medication administration, and physical examinations.
  • Familiarity with aseptic techniques to prevent infection during procedures.
  • Prior experience in triage, emergency response, or trauma management is highly desirable.
  • Valid driving licence is preferred.
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and work effectively in physically demanding conditions is required.

Pay: From £200.00 per day

  • Suffolk: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

  • FREC3, STCW MFAS, STCW MCAS (required)

  • ENG1 Medical (required)
