QHSE Advisor UK

WellGear are the industry leading supplier of Hydraulic Workover, Plug & Abandonment and snubbing units and services.

Due to continued growth, WellGear is seeking a motivated and experienced QHSE Advisor to join our fast-growing and dynamic business. This is a key role within the organisation, offering the opportunity to make a significant contribution to the continued growth and success of WellGear UK.

The QHSE Advisor is responsible for providing Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental (QHSE) advice, guidance, and technical support across all areas of the business. The role is primarily focused on UK operations; there may be opportunities to support international activities as the business continues to expand.

Reporting to the QHSE Manager, the successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting UK operations. The position is based at our Aberdeen facility; there is the potential for occasional offshore visits to support operational activities.

Working closely with frontline personnel, supervisors, and contractors, the QHSE Advisor will provide operational support to ensure the safe, compliant, and efficient execution of yard activities and project preparation. Acting as the first point of contact for QHSE matters, the role is instrumental in embedding QHSE standards into day-to-day operations, proactively identifying and managing risks, ensuring compliance with regulatory and company requirements, and promoting a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence across the organisation.

ROLE: This includes but is not limited to

TASKS AND RESPONABILITIES

OPERATIONAL SUPPORT

· Provide day-to-day QHSE guidance and technical support to site teams, supervisors, and contractors.

· Assist and coach in daily toolbox talks, pre-job safety briefings, and operational meetings where.

· Assist in implementing safe work procedures and risk assessments.

· Ensure all work is performed in compliance with the QHSE policies, procedures, and local regulations of WellGear.

· Holds authority to stop any job that is deemed to be unsafe and report this to management

· Support the WellGear yard and services, additional duties may be required

· Occasional travelling may be required

MONITORING & COMPLIANCE

· Monitor safe use of equipment and ensure proper use of PPE

· Support environmental monitoring activities, including waste management, spill control, and emissions tracking.

AUDITS & INSPECTIONS

· Performing internal audits (in compliance with ISO standards),

· Performing HSE inspections on site (onshore\offshore),

· Ensure registration of audits and inspections in ERP and monitoring follow-up of actions,

TRAINING & AWARENESS

· Deliver on-the-job coaching and QHSE awareness sessions to operational teams.

· Mentor and guide team members in hazard identification, risk control, and safe work practices.

· Conduct and support induction programs for new employees and contractors.

QUALITY ASSURANCE

· Support document control for procedures, inspection records, and QHSE reports.

· Assist in the implementation of quality processes and checks, to ensure these are followed.

· Provide feedback to improve operational workflows and minimize non-conformances.

INCIDENTS AND NON-CONFORMANES

· Support with incident response activities, including initial containment, reporting, investigation, and the implementation of preventive measures,

· Ensure non-conformances are recorded, investigated and corrective actions implemented

MANAGEMENT OF CHANGE

Participating in the MOC process regarding changes,

EDUCATION,TRAINING & EXPERIANCE

· NEBOSH General Certificate in health and Safety or equivalent as a minimum.

· Auditor qualification preferred.

· Previous experience working in a similar role.

· Experience working with management systems in line with ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001.

· 3–5 year’s QHSE experience in oil and gas, petrochemical, or related industry.

· Proactive and hands-on approach

· Ability to influence and promote a strong safety culture at all levels

· Ability to work in challenging environments and under pressure.

· Good data analysis skills. (making lists, graphs and statistics), attention to detail

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage diverse operational teams.

· Strong incident investigation and root cause analysis skills.

· Computer / Software skills; Microsoft Office Software
