Offshore Rig Mechanic

Due to continued growth, WellGear is seeking a skilled and motivated Offshore Rig Mechanic to join its expanding and dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the company’s development while contributing to a dedicated and close-knit workforce.

Role:

The successful candidates’ role will be to perform maintenance duties on a wide variety of equipment. On a day-to-day basis the role will be maintaining a range of Hydraulic equipment, engines, rotating equipment and Pumps. The right person must be self-motivated and enjoy working on such equipment.

The role will be predominately offshore but with an initial training period onshore in the workshop and occasional onshore periods in the workshop where required.

This includes but is not limited to:

· Servicing and general maintenance of equipment

· Working with the maintenance management system

· Break down repairs

· Fault finding

· Assisting Electrical team offshore where required

· Working alongside HWO crew in operating equipment where required

This would suit a candidate with the following qualities:

· Experience of hydraulics

· Hands on approach with a can-do attitude

· High level of attention to detail

· Takes pride in their work

· Self-motivated, driven and determined.

· Prior experience of drilling maintenance and equipment (Pumps, rotaries, hydraulic powerpacks, etc)

· Excellent interpersonal skills

Experience

Previous experience in a similar role is essential.

The following or equivalent courses are desirable

· Hydraulics Level 1 & 2

· Hydraulic Hose Assembly Course

· Offshore Survival

· UK Medical
