Full job description

Sulzer is a leading engineering company with a proud heritage of innovation. Join our global team to grow your expertise and develop innovative solutions that enable a prosperous and more sustainable society.

About the role

Our newly refurbished Leeds facility our Advanced Pump Design and Manufacturing Centre of Excellence, where highly engineered, bespoke pumping solutions are designed, built and delivered for some of the world’s most demanding applications. Our pumps operate in environments where failure isn’t an option — from energy, oil & gas, chemicals, water, nuclear and heavy industry, serving global customers who expect absolute precision, reliability and performance.

We’re looking for an experienced Project Scheduler to take ownership of planning and scheduling across large, complex engineering projects — the kind with long lead times, multiple workstreams and a lot of moving parts.

You’ll be at the heart of the project lifecycle, building and maintaining detailed schedules that align engineering, procurement, manufacturing, testing and delivery. This is a role for someone who enjoys turning complexity into clarity.

What you’ll be doing

  • Developing, maintaining and controlling end‑to‑end project schedules using MS Project

  • Working closely with Project Managers, Engineering, Supply Chain and Manufacturing to ensure plans are realistic, integrated and achievable

  • Managing schedule risk, critical paths and dependencies across complex, multi‑discipline projects

  • Using SAP to track progress, materials, production milestones and performance

  • Providing clear schedule reporting, forecasts and insights to support decision‑making

  • Driving continuous improvement in planning standards, tools and processes

What we’re looking for

  • Proven experience as a Project Scheduler / Planner within large, complex engineering or manufacturing projects

  • Strong, hands‑on experience with MS Project

  • Working knowledge of SAP within a project or manufacturing environment

  • Comfortable managing projects with many interdependencies, long lead items and competing priorities

  • Confident communicator who can challenge constructively and influence stakeholders

  • A structured, detail‑driven mindset with the ability to see the bigger picture

What we offer you

Core Benefits

  • A competitive salary

  • A company-wide bonus scheme

  • Medicash Health Cash Plan (covering everyday healthcare expenses such as dental, optical and GP services)

  • 33 days’ holiday

  • Defined pension contribution

  • Employee Assistance Programmes

  • Discounts on shopping, entertainment & lifestyle

  • Costco membership option

  • Discounted personal car leasing for you, family & friends

  • Long Service Awards

  • Ongoing learning through Sulzer Learning Pathways

  • Armed Forces Support – As a Silver Award holder of the MoD Defence Employer Recognition Scheme, we actively support veterans, reservists and Cadet Adult Volunteers. This includes policies that enable time for training, camps and deployment, alongside access to a growing internal military network.

Onsite Perks

  • Free, secure parking with EV charging

  • Multi-faith prayer room

  • Newly modernised work areas

  • Lively Sports & Social Club with events & prize draws

  • 24/7 onsite gym

  • Subsidised vending machines

  • Subsidised Canteen offering hot and cold food
