Full job description

Contract type: Fixed term until 30th June 2028
Hours: Full-time
About the role
We are looking for a Research Assistant to work in the Bone Oncology Research Group, led by Professor Claire Edwards. You will be based in the Botnar Research Centre, Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre, Oxford as your normal place of work. A major focus of the group is the role of the host microenvironment in tumour growth and the associated bone disease. You will work as part of an enthusiastic team on a project investigating cellular and metabolic crosstalk in the prostate cancer-bone microenvironment, identifying key mechanisms controlling prostate cancer bone metastasis
About you
It is essential that you hold a degree in a medical/biological subject or equivalent, and have previous research experience, ideally in a similar research field. Experience with cell biology techniques is essential, and experience with prostate cancer cells or bone cells is highly desirable. Good organisational skills, inter-personal skills and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team are essential.
This full-time post is available immediately until 30th June 2028 in the first instance.
Application Process
If you would like to discuss this role, please contact Professor Claire Edwards via claire.edwards@ndorms.ox.ac.uk.
Applications for this vacancy are to be made online. You will be required to upload a supporting statement, setting out how you meet the selection criteria, curriculum vitae and the names and contact details of two referees as part of your online application. Please quote reference NDSA987 on all correspondence.
Only applications received before noon on Friday 3rd July 2026 can be considered.
Interviews will be held on Wednesday 15th July 2026.
