Full job description
English Teacher | Permanent | January 2027 Start
Location: West London
Contract: Full Time, Permanent
Start Date: January 2027
Salary: MPS/UPS
We’re recruiting on behalf of a well-run secondary school in West London for an English Teacher to join a strong, supportive department from January.
This school does structure properly. Routines are clear, expectations are high, and behaviour systems are consistent across every classroom, so teachers can get on with what they do best: teaching. If you like working in a school where the rules are the same on Monday as they are on Friday, and where colleagues actually back each other up, you’ll feel at home here.
What you’ll be doing:
- Teaching English across KS3 and KS4
- Delivering well-planned, knowledge-rich lessons
- Applying the school’s behaviour and routines consistently, so every lesson starts calm and stays focused
- Tracking progress, using data to shape your teaching, and keeping standards high
- Working closely with your department and wider staff team
What you’ll need:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- A degree in English or a related subject
- Proven classroom experience in a secondary school
- Confidence with behaviour management, and a track record of running calm, orderly classrooms
- Comfortable working within clear structures and a consistent whole-school approach
- A real commitment to high expectations and strong outcomes for every pupil
ECTs and Experienced Teachers will be considered.
Only candidates meeting the above criteria will be contacted.
Enhanced DBS check and right to work in the UK required.
